Association California County Boards Education

ACCBE is a new independent organization led by county trustees, focusing solely on the needs of County Board members.  ACCBE is the voice for all California county boards of education and the unique needs of our students and boards. Our goal is to Empower, Connect and Advocate for county boards. 

Representing and Advocating: ACCBE is the voice for county boards of education and the unique needs of our students. Our new organization empowers us to take strong positions on legislation and policies that affect county offices of education.

Dedicated to its members: ACCBE protects our legal authority and autonomy and provides county boards with an independent board of directors that only answers to its members.

Future Focused: ACCBE proactively advances a strong strategic mission, vision and agenda on behalf of county boards of education and California’s families and children, especially those most at risk.

 Building Strong and Enduring Relationships: ACCBE strengthens county boards and county board members by supporting strong boards and close collaboration and networking. 

Promoting Strong Collaboration and Shared Governance: ACCBE builds strong ties with our partners, county superintendents and the County Superintendents of Education Association.

Building Coalitions with Other Educational Associations: ACCBE Advocates for our needs while building coalitions with organizations such as the California School Boards Association, the Association of California School Administrators, and other organizations that support public education.

 There is growing grassroots support for ACCBE. This includes many board members from large urban counties that serve more than half of all students in California, as well as board members from medium and small counties in rural, suburban, and urban areas across every geographic region of the state.
